Teams

Teams are used to group members so that they can be associated with other resources within Canary like hosts, monitors, notifications and incidents.

Each team needs a manager and on-call member defined for use by these resources. The same person can be assigned both the team roles of manager and on-call member.

A monitor and a host must be linked to a team. Only one team at a time can be linked to a monitor. This assignment is done in each monitor when it is created or edited.

Important

You can only view or edit hosts and monitors that are linked to teams that you are a member of.

Only the team manager or the organisation owner can make changes to teams.

Deleting a Team

To delete a team you can use the contect menu when viewing the list of all teams, or the Delete this Team button when viewing a single team.

You cannot delete a team when it is still linked to a monitor. When viewing the list of teams, the blue badge next to each name shows the number of monitors the team is linked to.
